Some highlights of the evening. The first video, a bit of Q&A with Maude Barlow of the Council of Canadians, was very stirring.
Paul Moist mentioned a mayor in BC who was defeated when he championed a P3 for its water system.
Wilma Staff, former Alderman (Councillor) in Regina, explains some of the possible ways to fight back against City Council’s move to privatize water. Can taxes and water rates really always be raised to cover the record levels of debt the Council is putting Regina into? Not really. You can’t make people pay more than they can afford for a human right, like clean drinking water.
